What if a hospital was your high school, boarding school and summer camp rolled into one? What if it was the place where you fell in love for the first time and made friendships that lasted a lifetime?
And what if it was all weirdly hilarious and the most fun you ever had in your entire life? This is the world of RED BAND SOCIETY.
From Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television, starring Academy Award-winning actress Octavia Spencer (“The Help,” “Fruitvale Station”) and based on the award-winning Spanish series, “Polseres Vermelles,” RED BAND SOCIETY is a provocative, unconventional and, at times, comic high school drama told through the eyes of a group of teenagers who meet as patients in the pediatric ward of Ocean Park Hospital in Los Angeles. The series is part comedy, part drama, with a tone that's unique unto itself.
Tune in to Red Band Society tonight on Fox to find out what happens when a popstar checks in to Ocean Park Hospital.
Bella Thorne is tonight’s special guest, appearing in Red Band Society season 1, episode 9, titled “How Did We Get Here?”
She plays popstar Delaney Shaw, who Dash (Astro) immediately tries to call dibs on – but Jordi (Nolan Sotillo) sees an opportunity he isn’t going to pass up.
Meanwhile, Emma (Ciara Bravo) and Leo (Charlie Rowe)’s relationship will hit another snag. Kara (Zoe Levin) and Hunter (Daren Kagasoff) are doing great, until Nurse Jackson (Octavia Spencer) interferes.
And finally, McAndrew (Dave Annable) decides to win Erin (Mandy Moore) back… with surprising results.
Last week, Charlie (Griffin Gluck) woke up from his coma, but that storyline is taking a backseat until next week. Instead, we get lots of relationship drama, which is sure to push our characters in some new, interesting directions.
A total of five sneak peeks for the episode have been released. The first one shows Nurse Jackson lecturing the kids on the need for quiet, when she’s interrupted by Bella Thorne’s loud arrival:
Guest star Bella Thorne arrives at the hospital, playing pop star Delaney Shaw. The celebrity is only being treated for exhaustion, so she’ll be up for some romancin’… but who’ll be the lucky guy?
Thorne is best known for My Own Worse Enemy, Big Love and Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
Romance is the word of the week at Ocean Park: not only will Dash be moving in on Delaney, but we’ve also got Leo (Charlie Rowe) and Emma (Ciara Bravo) getting closer, while Kara (Zoe Levin) and Hunter (Daren Kagasoff) explore their newfound connection.
Then there’s the budding love triangle between Adam (Dave Annable), Erin (Mandy Moore) and Brittany (Rebecca Rittenhouse), which is going to move forward in an unexpected direction.
Check out the stills for Wednesday’s episode, which show Bella Thorne cozying up to not just Dash, but also Jordi (Nolan Sotillo). That kid should learn to stay away from love triangles…
