The SheBelieves Cup was a huge success in terms of promoting the game on American soil with some of the biggest stars in the world. The USWNT may not have won, but they’ll have another opportunity to win as hosts in the Tournament of Nations when they square off against Japan, Brazil and Australia.
This will be the first time that the Tournament of Nations will take place. The United States will host Japan, Brazil and Australia, with the format being round robin. Every side plays each other once with three points for a win, one for a draw and none for a defeat. Should there be a tiebreak come the end of the competition, the winner will be decided via the official FIFA rankings, which sees the US number one, followed by Japan (6), Australia (7) and Brazil (8). All matches will be played in cities along the US west coast, double-headers in each of Carson California, San Diego California and Seattle Washington.
